Description

Silver Pearl  Granite is a coarse-grained, dark grey quartz monzonite of the Precambrian period with a dark grey / brown background. This stone internationally falls under the category of granites. However in the area of application of the European Standard this stone fall under the category of monzonites.

The veining and colour varies. A small sample of Silver Pearl granite may not be representative of the whole slab. Therefore swatch samples must be approved for large projects. That will ensure that the blocks are all extracted from the same quarry face for matching purposes. During the polishing process a clear epoxy resin filler may be used to fill any micro fissures or tiny pitting. However this does not affect the integrity of the stone, it merely provides an even smoother surface finish. Steel Grey granite is suitable for both interior and exterior use futhermore is frost resistant and with a constant polish.

Premium Quality Slab Sizes 2 & 3cm

Surface Finish: Silver Pearl granite looks best with a gloss polished surface. It is also available as honed, leather/satin, river-washed/antique, thermal/flamed, brushed and sandblast finish. We never use colour enhancers.

Sealing: Test with a small sample. There is a possibility of using a sealant on Silver Pearl granite. However excessive attempts at sealing it could actually create a residue film build-up.

Quarry Location: Silver Pearl granite is from a sheet bedrock quarry near Gurujepalli & Chilakaluripeta, Ongole, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India.
