Marble
When it comes to appearance, marble is definitely the most striking natural stone. It comes in varying patterns and veining, with minerals like calcite and dolomite getting deposited to form the stone. It also comes in a variety of colors, the most common being white. Marble is most popularly used when the intended desire is to give your home an elegant appearance.
It has higher porosity, making it relatively soft and prone to scratches. Also, it is susceptible to getting stained very easily, especially if something containing acid is spilled over it. This is why any spills should be wiped off immediately, so as not to let it stain.
Granite
Granite tiles range in different colors, from the darker gray or black to red, blue and yellow. They usually have speckled patterns on them, and a high content of mica or quartz gives them a spark.
This stone is excellent for kitchen floors, or any other room where a lot of footfalls can be expected. Being one of the hardest natural stones there is, it can easily withstand any damage, making it extremely durable.
Limestone
The limestone is also a very hard stone, but still somewhat more porous when compared to the granite. Its porosity makes it susceptible to stains. Its colors range from cream to brown, the patterns on it giving it the appearance of wood.
Being relatively cool, it a good choice for places that experience warm weather a bit too often. It is very comfortable to walk on, and also gives your home a classic look, as long as it is well maintained.
